Building a great team
My return from Portugal was greeted with an invitation to work in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire. The job was to refurbish an MBT processing MSW from the city of Cambridge and its surroundings. Yes, the job was a great one, but the real pleasure was working with friends from Germany and making new ones from Spain. I’ve always been pleased to work with Dietmar, Christoph, Holger, Jan, Michael and Mario. Great Team!
With a group like that, the main topic of conversation was naturally food and drink, and our natural habitats; the Sun, the White Horse and of course, the Eagle in Bene’t St.
To my great pleasure, I was able to introduce the younger members of the team to Greene King IPA and the delights of the homemade steak-and-ale pie. The older members were all great aficionados of English ales and beers, so there was no stopping these guys!
Waterbeach was a relatively easy project as far as the installation was concerned, the only serious problem was getting the 35 metre Rotopala cross-members into the building. We found a local company, Quinto of Norwich, who did such a great job for us, they did every lift we needed over the following three years. A big “Thank you” to them for such a safe and professional operation.
